On Friday, 26 January, David Lynch presented his new book 'Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity' at Transitions Bookplace in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Four hundred people attended the book launch, filling the store to capacity, and many were turned away at the door. Over 200 copies of the book were sold in one night.
Attendees were thrilled at the opportunity to ask the famous artist numerous questions, 'evoking a stream of brilliant commentary from David Lynch,' reported an audience member, who also noted that Dr Lynch described 'transcending' in an extremely motivating way—with descriptions that created a tangible momentum in the audience. 'I think as an artist David instinctively knows how to create images through his speech. He made bliss and transcending real,' the audience member continued.
The owner of the bookstore had been instructed as a teenager in Transcendental Meditation, founded by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and he thanked David Lynch personally for making Transcendental Meditation available to schoolchildren through the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education.
David Lynch is currently touring the US with great success, with people turning out in hundreds and thousands in city after city across the nation to learn the secrets of creativity from this esteemed filmmaker.
