Group to build Peace Palace in Cape
by Scott Moyers

21 September 2005
On 21 September 2005 Southeast Missourian reported:
David Zimmer, co-owner of the Zimmer family-owned Missouri radio stations, is heading a project to bring a Peace Palace to Cape Girardeau. The effort is part of a worldwide plan by the Global Country of World Peace, founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to build 2,600 Peace Palaces throughout the US and 3,000 around the world.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of world peace.
The Peace Palaces will offer courses in the Trancendental Meditation Programme (TM) as well as courses on diet and health. The facility will also sell related music, books, and natural clothing.
Zimmer told Moyers that TM had helped him to develop his potential and achieve greater inner peace. 'People need a place where they can get centred and focused to relieve the stress that society and life puts on us every day,' he went on to say. He hoped that the Peace Palace would be such a place.
Zimmer said that he sees the Peace Palace project as a way to give something back to his home community.
'We've had a great success in this community on many levels,' he said. 'When you get older, you develop a give-back attitude or you should. That's what we're hoping this does.'
Writer Scott Moyers asked Kent Boyum, who works for the Global Country of World Peace in Fairfield, Iowa, regarding the financing of the project. He said that the organization will aid in construction of the buildings using private donations from its members. Once the buildings are up and running, the non-profit organization gets some of the money back, Boyum said, using it to start new Peace Palaces and to build homes for the poor in Third World countries.
The article said that all of the Peace Palaces will be constructed according to Vedic principles, according to which the buildings will face eastward.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
