Eco-friendly Vastu house first of its kind in Scotland

The first house in Scotland built according to the principles of Maharishi Vastu design was recently completed. Henry Brighouse, a proponent of Maharishi Vastu architecture in the United Kingdom, described the unique features of the Vastu and highly eco-friendly house.
The house was built in a wild countryside setting, on a dramatic eastern slope with views to the North Sea.
First Maharishi Vastu home built in Scotland In addition to upholding rigourous Vastu design principles, the house is also built according to eco-friendly design principles.
The house is powered by wind energy, which means that electricity is generated through a small wind turbine on the property. Though this cost the homeowners an upfront fee, it has also helped them generate extra income each month.
Mr Brighouse commented, 'The wind can generate all the electricity they need. They can feed back into the national grid surplus energy that they generate and receive money from the government for that. So every month they receive a check from the government which totals about three times their total electricity consumption as income. So they're basically not paying for their electricity at all.'
He added that they utilize other eco-friendly building techniques.
'They have ground-source heat, which supplies, in a completely ecological way, heat to the house from the ground.'
A second Vastu house in Scotland is on its way to completion, Mr Brighouse added. This house, which will be built in the next two or three months, might be showcased on a popular UK-based television show.
He explained that they're been invited to present this scheme for building a Vastu home for a TV programme that has a huge following in the UK and abroad. 'We're going to put that forward with the permission of the owner. . . . If we get accepted, it will be a very interesting programme to watch. The message of Maharishi Vastu will receive a very complete airing to the general public in the UK and further afield.'
