Researchers looking into benefits of Maharishi Vastu

Initial research indicates the truth of ancient recommendations that proper Natural Law-based architectural design supports good health, happiness, family harmony, and prosperity.
Under consideration were homes built according to Maharishi Vastu (Vedic architecture), as well as buildings incorporating key Vastu elements. Homes not following principles of Vedic architecture were found to have a negative influence on residents.
Several studies and surveys have examined how quality of life is affected by the orientation of a building.
The strongest influence of Natural Law on earth is the influence of the sun, 'which rises in the east, passes overhead, and sets in the west—and directly influences everything on the surface of the earth,' said Jon Lipman, AIA, US Director of Maharishi Vedic Architecture. An eastern entrance, for example, is most auspicious, he explained, because of the nourishing influence of the rising sun. A southern entrance is least auspicious.
One medical doctor found that patients who live in south-facing houses suffer from the most depression and anxiety. This study was published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
Another medical doctor determined that people were three times more likely to have heart problems if they lived in a south-facing house.
A survey found that those living in south-facing houses were the least prosperous.
Another study, which has not yet been completed, examines five factors that can have an effect on occupants of a building, in this case an office building: orientation, shape of the structure, direction in which the fence opens, direction of the nearest bodies of water, and direction of nearest hills. Results thus far indicate that these factors can accurately predict the success of a given company and how much the employees earn.
In the coming days, Global Good News will continue to feature Maharishi Vastu initiatives around the world.
