Foundations of Physics and Consciousness: Dr Hagelin gives overview of new online distance education course

World renowned physicist John Hagelin, PhD* recently gave an in-depth overview of a course he has developed, Foundations of Physics and Consciousness: Discovery of the unified field and its practical applications for perfection in life.

Dr Hagelin said that this course presents the most advanced, cutting-edge principles of quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, superstring theory, astronomy, and big bang inflationary cosmology, and explores them in light of the most ancient and complete science of consciousness—Maharishi Vedic Science and Technology of Consciousness.

The course will be offered online starting in February 2011, through the Distance Education programme at Maharishi University of Management.

With a brilliant slide show on 14 January 2011, Dr Hagelin gave a profound understanding of the unified field, the limitless field of pure intelligence at the foundation of the universe and of the life of the individual. The understanding offered in the course contributes to deepening the direct experience of this field through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programmes.

Dr Hagelin has taught this course to thousands of first-year students at Maharishi University of Management, Fairfield, Iowa, USA, helping them discover how the latest discoveries of modern physics are directly relevant to their inner lives. The course begins 28 February. Dr Hagelin will hold live question and answer sessions, and students will also be able to communicate with each other through online discussion forums. Students may take the course on their own; it may also be possible for groups to arrange to take the course through their local Maharishi Invincibility Centres.** It may be taken for credit or non-credit, and no background in physics or mathematics is required.

The course requires prior familiarity with the theory and practice of Maharishi's Vedic Science and Technology of Consciousness, including instruction in the Transcendental Meditation Technique.

Dr Hagelin's presentation on the new course was given in MERU, Holland, during a continuing session of the global 12 January celebrations of the Global Country of World Peace.
