United Kingdom: New inventions, policies reflect rising collective consciousness

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi predicted that when coherence, orderliness, and purity rise in collective consciousness, new inventions would come out, along with developments that were unimaginable before.

In the United Kingdom, a company is launching a totally electric London taxi—a significant development in light of a tax created by the new Mayor of London on all vehicles coming into the city, and on vehicles that emit poisonous exhaust gas. Electric vehicles, however, are not taxed. As a result, London is becoming a very clean city compared to 10 years ago, and there is more public transport, explained Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, on 19 February.*

In addition, Britain has launched a scheme whereby energy used in private homes is labelled according to the ecological means by which it was produced. This will allow consumers to know exactly the quality of their electricity, so they can make better choices to support 'green' energy and low carbon emission. In related news, a British inventor has invented the world's smallest vacuum cleaner, which is just as powerful as a full-size model. The intention was to make something very ecologically friendly: the device uses a small amount of material and has no replaceable parts.

These are all signs of 'purity and rising clarity of national consciousness', Raja Peter said, as a result of large coherence-creating groups of Yogic Flyers practising together daily in several areas of the country.

He also reported that twenty years ago, one newspaper asked leading people in the country what London would be like twenty years in the future. Their predictions were: pollution, conflict, and crime. The newspaper recently interviewed the same celebrities on this topic, and their comments reflected that the exact opposite has happened: London has become a cleaner city; crime is decreasing; the architecture is increasingly rich; and great emphasis has been placed on cleaning up the environment and landmarks. 'Everything is actually thriving,' Raja Peter said.

'Of course, London is very much a multi-cultural city,' he said, 'but all these experts are saying things haven't worked out as they expected. We see, through the eyes of great thinkers, that they have been surprised by what Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has achieved through the coherence-creating groups in the country and around the world.'

* Raja Peter spoke on the 19 February Maharishi Global Family Chat, which is broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
