Speaking 22 July 2008 on Maharishi Global Family Chat, as part of the Global Guru Purnima Assembly in MERU, Netherlands, Raja Michael Dillbeck, Raja of Invincible France for the Global Country of World Peace, summarized the many achievements of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as they relate to the field of modern science and scientific research.
In Part I and Part II of this article, Raja Dillbeck explained Maharishi's use of modern science as a tool for conveying the benefits of his programmes. He then went on to present several key examples of research studies performed over the last 40 years, which reveal indisputably the vast range of these benefits.
In the final part of his speech, Raja Dillbeck presented landmark studies on the Maharishi Effect, 'Maharishi's supreme application of Vedic wisdom to bless the whole world at once, raising every nation to invincibility.' Achieving the Maharishi Effect, continued Raja Dillbeck, thus radiating the influence of coherence, peace, and harmony created by groups of Yogic Flyers, is the main focus of all Global Country of World Peace activities.
One study of the Maharishi Effect in the US measured the influence of sufficiently-sized Yogic Flying groups, with numbers greater or equal to the square root of 1% of the population, on the rate of fatalities due to violence: homicides, suicides, and motor vehicle fatalities, among others. It was determined that when the group of Yogic Flyers was large enough, there was a significant drop in fatalities, such that, in effect, the group was saving 5,000 lives per year.
According to economic studies in the US, continued Raja Dillbeck, there have been large drops in unemployment and inflation rates during times when large groups practised Yogic Flying together. 'A very conservative estimate showed that there was a benefit to the US of $68 billion,' said Raja Dillbeck. 'That means a contribution of about $40 million per person practising Yogic Flying in Fairfield, Iowa, USA during that time.'
Another significant study on the Maharishi Effect gauged Cold War relations between the US and Soviet Union during the second half of the 20th century. During times when sufficient groups of Yogic Flyers gathered, the actions of the US toward the Soviet Union became more positive. Also, when large enough groups were established throughout the world, Soviet behaviour toward the US became more constructive as well. 'We all know that this great threat to world peace ended in a very graceful way,' said Raja Dillbeck.
'Most importantly, when large groups of Yogic Flyers are established on the global level, international conflicts have decreased over time.' For example, reported Raja Dillbeck, international terrorism has been shown to decrease by as much as 72% due to the Maharishi Effect.
'Maharishi has said that "through the window of science we see the dawn of the Age of Enlightenment,"' stated Raja Dillbeck in closing. 'I think we can safely say that Maharishi didn't need the window of science to see the dawn, but he constructed a window so that we could see the transformation of life that he was creating. He graciously explained to us the scientific reality of this accomplishment now unfolding in the world to create Heaven on Earth. Through teaching us the Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying Techniques, he has ensured invincibility for the entire world.'
