[In the interview in Indian Express, Mr. Shrivastava said:] Ayurveda has been practised in India from time immemorial. . . . Ayurveda follows a traditional holistic approach that covers physiology, psychology, environment and the fundamental of life—'the being'. Ayurveda's resurgence must be credited to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who revived Ayurveda to its full glory in the early 1980's. . . .
In the Maharishi Ayurveda way of treating heart disease, we consider physiology as the manifestation of consciousness that transforms into the body's own intelligence. Therefore, we consider the involvement of suppression of this intelligence by stress as the major cause of any health problem including heart disease.
