Organizers of the International Ayurveda Conference, to be hosted by Maharishi European Research University (MERU) in the Netherlands in April 2015, have arranged for several optional courses to be offered for attendees, during the conference or in a special extension following the main conference dates. These include: the opportunity to learn Transcendental Meditation, as well as courses in Maharishi Ayur-Veda Pulse Diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha), and an Introduction to Maharishi Aroma Therapy.
Details of Optional Courses
∙ Transcendental Meditation as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (10-14 April 2015)
The conference will also give the optional possibility for all participants to learn Transcendental Meditation (TM).
Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural, effortless technique practised 20 minutes twice each day while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed.
Over 350 published research studies have found that the TM technique effortlessly produces a state of restful alertness that markedly reduces stress, anxiety, and fatigue, and promotes balanced functioning of mind and body.
The TM technique is easy to learn and enjoyable to practise, and is not a religion, philosophy, or lifestyle. Over six million people around the world have learned it—people of all ages, cultures, and religions.
The teaching of TM will be arranged in a way that it will not interfere with the schedule of the conference, so as to make it easy for all conference participants to learn it. (See the conference announcement for more information about the course.)
∙ Maharishi AyurVeda Pulse Diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha) Course (14-17 April 2015)
Learning to detect balance and imbalance in the body by feeling the pulse, and to correct imbalances before disease arises through adjustments in diet and daily routine. This course will provide you with thorough introduction to pulse diagnosis including theoretical and practical aspects.
''Life according to Natural Law is the basis of perfect balance of pulse—absolute perfection of balance, which is Samhita of Rik Veda, the Constitution of the Universe.'' — Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
∙ Introduction to Maharishi Aroma Therapy (14-17 April 2015)
This course will provide fascinating and highly practical knowledge about essential oils, their properties and applications. Participants will experience the powerful effects of the pure, certified organic and wild harvested VedAroma essential oils. These essential oils are balancing and normalising in their effects; they enliven body's own self-healing mechanism and restore life, health, and wholeness in body, mind, and soul. They can quickly uplift us, calm and relax us, motivate and inspire us, harmonise and balance our emotions, relieve physical symptoms of imbalances, and improve many physical and psychological functions.
The conference schedule also includes an opportunity to tour the world famous Keukenhof Tulip Gardens and enjoy a canal cruise in Amsterdam.
The conference venue is the Theater Hotel De Orangerie in Roermond, Netherlands
