On Monday evening, May 5, Maharishi University of Management's Distinguished Lecture Series presents Robert D. Brook, M.D., speaking on 'Transcendental Meditation, Air Pollution, and your Heart'.
Dr Brook is Chair of two American Heart Association Scientific Committees: Alternative Approaches to Lowering Blood Pressure, and Air Pollution and Cardiovascular Disease. With uniquely broad vision in medicine, he pioneered two fields of preventive medicine: Environmental cardiology and the evidence-based review of alternative approaches for high blood pressure, including the Transcendental Meditation technique.
Dr Brook's lecture, which will be given at the MUM campus in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, will be livestreamed online via MUMTV starting at 8:00pm US Central Time (US CT).

Dr. Brook is Associate Professor, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and Director of American Society of Hypertension-Designated Comprehensive Hypertension Center, University of Michigan School of Medicine.
He is chair of the American Heart Association committee that concluded the Transcendental Meditation technique may be considered in the treatment of high blood pressure.
Dr. Brook will discuss:
∙ The Role of Transcendental Meditation and other alternative methods in hypertension
∙ How air pollution increases risk for hypertension and cardiovascular disease and is a global epidemic
∙ Why the Transcendental Meditation technique may be useful in the prevention and treatment of air pollution-related hypertension
