The Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Bad Ems, Germany, is one of the premiere Ayurveda* clinics in Europe. One of the specialties of the health centre is an Ayurvedic treatment known as Panchakarma (rejuvenation therapy). A new video filmed at the clinic in Bad Ems follows the progress of a patient as she goes through Panchakarma treatment.

Lothar Pirc, the founder and managing director of the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre, explained that Panchakarma has been shown to be quite effective at removing toxins from the body.

Mr Pirc and his wife, Dr. phil. Karin Pirc, the medical director, founded the clinic in 1992 and have worked with over 20,000 guests since then.

Before explaining what Panchakarma entails and why it is a successful treatment, the video describes the health centre and its importance: Health is a human being's greatest asset, but stress and unhealthy habits can put pressure on the body; the Maharishi Ayurveda treatments at the Bad Ems clinic can give the body much-needed strength again.

A client visiting the health centre described her great satisfaction with the results of her treatment. She said, 'I am totally inspired. In the beginning I could not imagine how good it could be here. This is a completely new discovery for me and it is doing me so much good. I can really recommend it to others.'

Mr Pirc said, 'I think we can take pride in saying that we are probably one of the foremost Ayurveda facilities in the Western world today. We specialize in Panchakarma, the profound detoxification and regeneration programme of Ayurveda. We're delighted to be able to offer this to our guests at a very high quality.'

The clinic is located on the banks of the Lahn River in the historic Häckers Grand Hotel—in the past the summer residence of Kaiser Wilhelm I. Guests enjoy their treatment in four- and five-star comfort and luxury.
