Anyone who has recommended a friend or colleague to learn Transcendental Meditation will know how fulfilling it can be to witness the effects in their lives. This is what inspired Dr Norman Rosenthal, well known psychiatrist and mental health researcher, to visit London this October to give a series of lectures designed to raise awareness of the benefits of the technique. The knowledge that one is passing on something that can be so helpful, he has said, is greatly rewarding.
Dr Rosenthal achieved international recognition for identifying seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and pioneering its treatment with light therapy. More recently he has suggested that, in addition to its many other benefits, Transcendental Meditation can also help in the treatment of SAD. Two of his books, Transcendence: Healing and Transformation through Transcendental Meditation and Winter Blues – Everything you need to know to beat Seasonal Affective Disorder, have been recently updated and re-released in the UK.
His trip to the UK followed extensive tours in the United States where his compelling accounts of the benefits of Transcendental Meditation have boosted its popularity and the number of doctors recommending it to their patients.
