Lothar Pirc, founder and managing director of two highly successful health clinics, recently discussed the launch of Pirc Clinic Consulting, a firm dedicated to assisting the establishment and operation of Ayurveda clinics.
In his discussion, Mr Pirc mentioned the growing success and acceptance of Ayurveda, and especially of Maharishi Ayurveda—the complete, authentic knowledge of this ancient system of medicine that was brought out by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
In a lecture about Ayurveda, Maharishi explained what makes the practice unique:
'Ayurveda will be projected as the most supremely evolved system of perfect health, from both points of view: prevention and cure. . . . It is the most profound system of maintaining perfect health because it deals with consciousness, it deals with mind, body, senses, the whole environment. It deals with all levels of manifestation of life.'
Describing more about the special nature of Maharishi Ayurveda health care, Mr Pirc recalled comments made by the former Minister of State for Health of the government of India, Smt. Panabaka Lakshmi, who visited the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Bad Ems, Germany a few years ago to learn more about it.
In response, she wrote:
'As Ayurveda is becoming more and more popular outside India in many countries of the world, there is a strong demand for a clear and profound presentation of the ancient science.'
Smt. Panabaka Lakshmi went on, noting the special work of Maharishi in the field of this ancient science. 'In the last three decades a tremendous revival of Vedic Sciences including Ayurveda has taken place. This is owing to the leading experts on the field of Veda and its different branches. A special credit goes to His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for his outstanding contribution in the revival of this precious knowledge.'
The Minister of Health concluded by expressing her appreciation to experts in Maharishi Ayurveda 'for bringing this practical knowledge to the people in their country'.
