Following the success of an article published in the international peer-reviewed journal Light on Ayurveda, Lothar Pirc co-authored another article, on Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's perspective on Vedanta, an aspect of the Vedic literature.

With the help of Dr Girish Momaya and Dr Susan Brown, Mr Pirc wrote a 28-page article titled 'Maharishi's insight into Vedanta - The ultimate knowledge of life and its application to bring world peace: From philosophy to science'.

Mr Pirc said that the article includes pictures of Maharishi and his Master, Shri Guru Dev,* as well as many scientific research studies. It will be published in the most prestigious scientific journal in Hindi in India, and also in a book.

In addition to this article about Vedanta, Mr Pirc had another chance to speak on the subject.

'I had the great honour to be keynote speaker at the Twentieth International Congress of Vedanta,' said Mr Pirc. The congress, held in December 2011 at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, 'was jointly organized by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (USA) Center for Indic Studies'.

Mr Pirc's topic was the same as in his article above, examining Maharishi's insight into Vedanta. (Click here for an abstract of Mr Pirc's address.)

At the congress, he introduced Maharishi's special contributions in the field of Vedic knowledge, explaining how Maharishi brought the light of Vedanta to the world through direct experience of Atma, the Self or Transcendental Consciousness, through his simple, natural, scientifically validated technique of Transcendental Meditation.

Mr Pirc also presented more about Maharishi's explanation of Vedanta, the seven states of consciousness, and the relationship between the Veda and human physiology.

He concluded that the ultimate fulfilment of Vedanta occurs when individuals gain enlightenment and the whole world attains peace.

After the speech, many people approached Mr Pirc. Many had learned Transcendental Meditation 30 or more years ago and were happy to hear about the progress since then toward reviving Vedic knowledge and creating world peace through Maharishi's programmes around the world.
