The Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Bad Ems, Germany is celebrating over 20 years of success. Its owner and managing director, Mr Lothar Pirc, recently spoke about the unique clinic he started and manages with his wife, medical director Dr Karin Pirc, including new plans and developments.

Located in the historic Emperor's Wing of the distinguished Häcker's Grandhotel in the renowned spa town of Bad Ems, the clinic also operates a unique restaurant serving Ayurvedic cuisine. With about 70 expertly trained employees and a maximum capacity of 40 guests, the clinic is open 365 days a year.

In addition, the clinic is located near healing waters and has the unique status of being a government-recognized hospital of Ayurveda.

In these 20 years, Mr Pirc said, 'we have treated more than 20,000 guests with Maharishi Panchakarma [rejuvenation therapy] and seen wonderful results.'

The latest developments at the Bad Ems clinic include building a new Ayurveda teaching kitchen to train guests in preparing their own Ayurvedic cuisine, as well as a €10 million investment which aims to upgrade the clinic into a 5-star hotel within the next few months.

Mr Pirc also reported that both he and his wife have been busy giving major lectures in the last year. Dr Pirc spoke to about 300 people at a few different yoga conferences, while Mr Pirc will be giving a talk to 500 people in July at a Berlin yoga conference.

Dr Rainer Picha, a cardiologist and authority on Maharishi Vedic Medicine, praised Mr Pirc's achievements:

'Mr Pirc is the founder and proprietor of the award-winning Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Bad Ems, Germany . . . and the secretary general of the European Ayurveda Medical Association. . . . He has introduced the health benefits of Ayurveda and Transcendental Meditation to thousands of people around the world.'
