Jerry Yellin, an 87-year-old decorated P-51 fighter pilot and Co-Chair of Operation Warrior Wellness, provides a moving account of his personal experience with overcoming PTS through the Transcendental Meditation technique.
Mr. Yellin tells the story of being a talented young fighter pilot in World War II, and the emptiness he felt coming home. ''I had no satisfaction in my life in anything that I did—in business or anything else. My wife and I have four sons—we have a loving family—but I found no satisfaction in life.''
After learning Transcendental Meditation in 1975, Mr. Yellin's life changed: ''For the first time in my life, at the age of 51, I felt grounded. I felt satisfied with my life. I felt that I was accomplishing something in the business world. And I did.''
Motivated by his experience with TM, Mr. Yellin spearheaded the launch of Operation Warrior Wellness—an initiative to provide TM to his fellow veterans suffering from PTS.
