Col. Brian Rees, M.D., of the Medical Corps U.S. Army Reserve and Co-Chair of Operation Warrior Wellness, speaks about the tragic development of PTS among military service personnel.
After sharing a vivid account of how PTS develops, Col. Rees discusses the effectiveness of Transcendental Meditation for both prevention and treatment of PTS.
''Just about any psychological outcome that has been evaluated—whether it's moral maturity or development of ego strength or self-actualization or anxiety reduction or increased nervous system stability—improves with TM. That is why TM is an appropriate intervention for developing resilience and treating PTS,'' he says.
