Soldiers with PTSD should swap machine guns for meditation mats

Times LIVE in South Africa reports on a new study that shows positive effects of Transcendental Meditation in military veterans who suffer from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). Results of the study included reduced stress and depression, and improved relationships.

Dr Norman Rosenthal,* who led the study, commented, ''The men were in extreme distress and the simple, effortless Transcendental Meditation technique literally transformed their lives.''
