New programme offering Transcendental Meditation to veterans receives media coverage

On Monday, 13 December, during a conference in New York City, filmmaker David Lynch will launch 'Operation Warrior Wellness'—a national initiative offering the Transcendental Meditation Programme to 10,000 veterans and their families.

The conference will be held at 11am (ET) at the Paley Center for Media in New York. It will be webcast live at www.livestream.com/davidlynch.

The initiative, which has support from researchers, veterans and active duty soldiers—as well as celebrities including Clint Eastwood, Russell Brand, and Martin Scorsese—offers a solution to the pressing problem of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which affects an estimated 30% to 35% of the 1.64 million US troops deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq since October 2001.
