Two major conferences will be held in the United States later this year to present research on the effects of the Transcendental Meditation Programme on PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).*
The events include a luncheon on 11 November (Veteran's Day) and a summit in Washington DC on 12 November. Although research on TM and PTSD is still in its preliminary stages, so far all signs point to its effectiveness, based on the technique's proven results in improving insomnia, anxiety, depression, drug abuse, ADHD, and other psychological and stress-related disorders.
In other news from the US, two well-attended events were recently held for Transcendental Meditation Teachers at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. A Refresher Course for Teachers drew 120 participants, and a subsequent national workshop drew 250.
