A Call for Practitioners in Natural Medicine
Do we really need one more institution for natural medicine? Absolutely.
Many systems of natural medicine and Ayurveda as practised now in Europe, India, and the United States have become mostly herbal medicine. Ayurveda also includes purification techniques called Panchakarma, and dietary recommendations. Maharishi Vedic Medicine offers all of these and much more. It offers the knowledge and experience of the fundamental field of health—the field of consciousness.
Please also see Part I of this article.
By enlivening the field of consciousness, we enliven the basis of the mind and body. Consciousness is the most basic field of life. In modern science it is known as the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature. Enlivening that field through the effortless, natural practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation spontaneously enlivens total Natural Law in the mind and body, resulting in improvements in all areas of life—mind, body, behaviour, and environment.
The field of consciousness, located in the simplest form of human awareness, is a field of perfect order and balance, and its experience results in orderly brain function, and increased intelligence, learning ability, and performance in every area. It also enlivens the inner intelligence of the body, resulting in improvements in every area of health.
Maharishi Vedic Medicine is a truly holistic system of natural health care that brings balance and integration to the individual and society. It goes far beyond herbal medicine.
Degree Programmes Starting in March 2009
End of March 2009, Maharishi University of Vedic Medicine will offer a BS and MS in Maharishi Vedic Medicine. These programmes are offered full-time (3-year BS programme and 2-year MS programme) and part-time (5-year BS programme and 3 1/2 -year MS programme).
While earning their degree, students will enjoy organic food free from poisonous chemicals, follow a balanced routine of rest and activity, and develop their full brain potential by practising the Transcendental Meditation Programme and Maharishi Ayurveda self-care programmes.
'Launching a university with a new approach to health care is an ambitious enterprise,' says Philippe Mercanton DSCI, administrative director of MUVM. 'We're eager to speak with prospective students, with health professionals who could become faculty members, and with well-wishers who would be interested in providing financial support for the establishment of this new programme.'
Now imagine going to a doctor or naturopath who is educated to prevent disease, minimize side effects, and restore your health with a synthesis of modern medicine and natural medicine.
