Speaking 2 September 2008 on Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Paul Gelderloos, National Director of Invincible Netherlands for the Global Country of World Peace, reported that the Maharishi Ayur-Veda Spa in the Netherlands has recently received a wave of publicity from national newspapers and magazines.
A year ago, Dr Gelderloos and his wife acquired a first-class Ayurvedic spa, located in a wealthy area near Amsterdam in a beautiful natural environment, which they then gradually transformed into a Maharishi Ayur-Veda spa. 'Given the high status of this spa, and that it was already Ayurvedic, it was very easy to bring in Maharishi's knowledge,' said Dr Gelderloos.
Recent publicity surrounding the spa, he continued, includes an article in one of the most widely read women's magazines in the Netherlands. The article, said Dr Gelderloos, was published just after he acquired the spa. 'This spa, located on the waterfront, provides 100% relaxation,' read the article. It also explained the meaning of Ayur-Veda and the three Doshas*: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. 'Most of the journalists received treatments at the spa before writing their articles, and their reviews were altogether positive,' added Dr Gelderloos. In the women's magazine article, the journalist described supreme relaxation experienced during the Ayurvedic oil massage.
Another article featured interviews with three different people who had received treatments at the spa. The journalists asked these people to explain why they sought treatment, how they experienced the pulse diagnosis (one of the unique features of Maharishi Ayur-Veda), and what kind of treatment they received afterwards. The article then described the different varieties of treatments the people received, based on their unique physiological constitutions. 'This article also included general advice on Ayurvedic living, such as to drink warm water throughout the day and be in bed by 10 o'clock at night,' added Dr Gelderloos.
'These are just a couple of the ten magazine articles on this Maharishi spa which have come out within the last 11 months or so,' said Dr Gelderloos. He concluded by describing his own experience receiving treatment in the spa. 'Just walking into the spa, once we introduced Maharishi's knowledge, was like walking on air—like floating into a heavenly place.' He complimented the spa's dedicated staff, who are now fully retrained in the principles of Maharishi Ayur-Veda, and the beautiful surroundings. 'Our next goal is to create residential facilities, so that guests can experience longer, more thorough treatments.'
* In Maharishi Ayur-Veda, three fundamental principles that regulate and govern the functioning of the physiology.
