On 28 May 2005 Times of India reported:
A news item appeared in The Times of India quoting recent research conducted at the Medical College of Georgia, USA, on the Transcendental Meditation Programme (TM). The research showed TM to be an effective technique in lowering blood pressure and improving other physiological functions such as respiratory functioning, blood vessel dilation, stress-hormone regulation, and cardiovascular health.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
The research focused on high-school students who were taught the Transcendental Meditation Technique to help lower their blood pressure. After a four month period it was found that the TM group's blood pressure had decreased by an average of three to four points.
In yet another published study on the Transcendental Meditation Programme it was found that those who practised TM were 30 per cent less likely to die of cardiovascular disease over the next eighteen years compared to their peers.
Researchers have found that the effects meditation has on the nervous system can alter a range of physiological functions such as:
• Blood-vessel dilation
• Stress-hormone regulation
• Cardio-vascular functions
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
