As most people are aware, in the last year Japan has seen both manmade and natural disasters devastate the country.
In spite of this, teachers of Transcendental Meditation have great optimism for Japan, and recently discussed some of the signs of the country's growing rise to a state of invincible peace, progress, and prosperity.
Before describing the numerous ways Japan has been recovering from recent events, one teacher detailed the country's impressive achievements, focusing on general trends which seem to show a great national coherence.
'Japan is a land of peace, affluence, good health, environmental beauty, purity, and incredible electronics,' he said. 'There are signs of growing invincibility in Japan as evidenced by statistics and global press reports.
'First of all, Japan is the safest nation in the world, with fewer crimes than any other nation,' he said. 'It's the healthiest nation in the world, with the longest lifespan; it's the highest in secular values of any nation in the world; it's the third most significant nation in innovation and technology; and also the world's third largest economy behind the United States and China. It's also the fifth most peaceful nation in the world.'
He added that although recovery from last year's earthquake is still in progress, these statistics certainly bode well for Japan's future.
The second article in this series will detail the efforts made by Japan's government and private businesses to prevent such a disaster from happening again. Subsequent articles will focus on how Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's technologies of consciousness can bring invincibility to the country, to assure a strong, disaster-free future.
