On 20 August 2004 Age of Enlightenment News Service reported: His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has said in his weekly press conference to India that the Capitals of Global Raam Raj will soon realize the dream of Vedic Administration. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of government.

These Capitals would be constructed according to Vastu, or building according to the Laws of Nature. In the first phase, 3000 cities with a population of more than a hundred thousand, in 108 countries all over the world, would have Peace Palaces or the Capitals of Global Raam Raj.

Maharishi said that the Capital of Global Raam Raj would be established at the centre (Brahmasthan)of India in Madhya Pradesh province. He also urged the government of India to shift the current capital of the country to the Brahmasthan, because according to Sthapatya Veda, the capital of any country should be at its centre.

This concept is important in the light of conflicts in society, frequent impasses in Parliament, and the fractured nature of democracy. Maharishi traces these problems to wrong vastu buildings of the Parliament, assemblies, and administrative buildings. He warned government that as long as governance continues to be done from these buildings, the same problems and conflicts will haunt the nation.

Maharishi said that it has become possible to realize the dream of Vedic Administration through information technology. All the countries, and states of India could be connected through a modern information system, with their administrators living in the Brahmasthan, and this would not need a very large group of people, he added.

In his address, Maharishi spoke about Griha Shanti and Yagyas which the Vedic Pandits would perform in the Peace Palaces. The main task of these Pandits would be to purify the collective consciousness of that particular region or country, and help raise the level of administration to a point where the full power of Natural Law gets awakened.

He said that only Vedic Science could provide totality to all. This knowledge has the capacity to create the impact of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah (prosperity and happiness for all). This is the ultimate goal of establishing Global Raam Raj.

India must realize its Vedic wisdom and weed out suffering and pain from the world through the Vedic concept of Heyam Dukham Anagatam (avert the suffering before it arrives). This is a great knowledge which only India can impart to the world. 'Only those who hold the lamp can remove the darkness,' he added.

Regarding the concept of democracy, Maharishi said that this system breaks the consistency in governance putting huge stress on its organizations. The people suffer too, because democracy forces them to live in a state of insecurity. 'The change in government every four or five years is like changing parents. Government should have a parental role which is nourishing to all,' he said.

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
