Leaders of the Global Country of World Peace are working to ensure food purity, safety, and nutrition around the world.
Nepal is a nation that is making great strides in this area, reported Dr John Fagan, an Administrator of the Global Country of World Peace with global responsibility for food purity and safety.
Over the last two years, three conferences have been held in Nepal highlighting the need for organic agriculture—particularly Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture. The conferences brought together four different government ministries, leaders in industry, and leaders of volunteer and non-governmental organizations.
Together with the Nepal Maharishi Vedic Foundation they began to plan for Nepal to move toward becoming an organic nation.
Many of these leaders expressed appreciation for the Transcendental Meditation Programme, mentioning that they would like to learn the technique 'right away', Dr Fagan said. 'They see this for themselves, they see this for their communities, they see it as an integral part of making Nepal self-sufficient in terms of its food system.'
In the coming days Global Good News will continue to feature Dr Fagan's discussion of this initiative.
