A recent 16-lesson course in Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture offered to students and faculty at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA has inspired requests that the course be offered to others in the community.
Invincible America Assembly participants have expressed interest in having another course, said international Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture expert Dr Peter Swan, during a radio interview on station KHOE in Fairfield.
Dr Swan developed the course under the guidance of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and has taught it in many locations around the world, including Maharishi University of Management.
The course offers a wealth of knowledge from ancient Vedic Science and modern science.
During the radio programme, Dr Swan highlighted many simple, natural, cost-effective approaches. Research in diverse areas of agriculture shows, he said, 'that it's completely possible to create a sustainable world—and by more production in agriculture, not less production, and with no toxins at all'.
In the area of dairy farming, for example, there have been many breakthroughs. The sugar content of grass is higher in the afternoon, so if cows graze primarily at this time, then there is a significant increase in milk production.
'The aim, you could say, of this course, and of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture, is to make a contribution to invincible nations and a peaceful world,' Dr Swan said. One way to do this is to use it to turn every Peace Palace and Maharishi School into 'a model of sustainability' and create sustainable communities. 'Maharishi Mahesh Yogi wanted to have Garden Cities, Vastu Garden cities'—each with vegetable gardens, orchards, and cows, so as to be self-sufficient in terms of food.
