'In the last few years, there has been a transition in collective consciousness around the world. Previously there were small groups here and there voicing concern about the environment, but now everyone is aware of the sustainability issues that are relevant to the planet today,' says John Fagan, PhD, an eminent molecular scientist who serves as Associate Director of the Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy in the US.

The catalyst for this transformation, says Dr Fagan, are groups practising the Transcendental Meditation Technique and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, creating an influence of coherence in society, leading to more life-supporting trends and national invincibility.

Dr Fagan, who also serves as Raja (Administrator) of Food Purity and Healthy Invincibility for the Global Country of World Peace, speaks internationally about the hazards of genetic engineering, and the solutions offered by Maharishi's Vedic Science, including Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture.

' ''Food security'' is 2010-speak for healthy invincibility,' said Raja Fagan. He gave a recent example of rising invincibility in India. 'Multinational corporations have exerted a huge effort to force genetically engineered eggplant on India. The Indian people see that this is the narrow end of the wedge to bring patented food technologies into their country.'

Public outcry has been nearly unanimous, and every eggplant-growing state in India has declared they will not grow the crop. Raja Fagan continued, 'The Indian people are demanding sovereignty in their food system, to protect their food system from foreign influences. This is a clear case of collective consciousness manifesting as vigilance for food security and national security. There will be more battles, as these other forces do not give up easily, but the motto of the Indian people says it all: Satyam eva jayate—Truth ultimately triumphs.'

'We can be confident as long as coherence in collective consciousness can be maintained. The leaders of the Global Country of World Peace in India are working dynamically to expand the existing coherence-creating groups, to create national invincibility, so such an event cannot even begin to take place.'

He continued, 'In this case the enemy is ignorance, not an individual or an organization. It is a lack of understanding of what food really is and what sustainability is.'

Global Good News will continue Raja Fagan's report in coming days, including his profound explanation of sustainability in terms of Natural Law and the development of 'sustainable human beings'.
