Purity and safety of the food supply - 'precise barometer' of a nation's collective consciousness: Raja John Fagan

How a country approaches the purity and safety of its food system, and its approach to food policy, are a 'precise barometer' of the level of coherence in its collective consciousness, said Dr John Fagan*, Raja of the Global Country of World Peace with special responsibility for food purity and safety, and healthy invincibility.
Over the last 15 years, Raja Fagan, who has extensive scientific expertise as a molecular biologist*, has become a recognized world leader in promoting food purity and safety through the programmes and Vedic technologies of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace.
In a special report on 23 February 2009, Raja Fagan said he wanted to 'celebrate the connection between collective consciousness and food' that has unfolded over the last several years.
Raja Fagan gave examples of recent developments in 'how the world is dealing with food', both at the governmental and grass roots levels in several countries, as a clear expression of rising coherence in collective consciousness in those countries and the world, resulting from Maharishi's programmes.
Some of the most compelling developments have occurred in the United States, Raja Fagan said, in the two and a half years since the Invincible America Assembly was convened in July 2006 in Maharishi Vedic City and nearby Fairfield, Iowa, to create a new upsurge of coherence in US national consciousness.
He referred to a 'massive change' in the approach of the national government in its regulation of certain foods since the Assembly began. For example, before the Assembly, the government had been approving genetically engineered crops to enter the marketplace 'in an almost wholesale way', Raja Fagan said. Within weeks after the Assembly began, however, the government reversed its position on two different genetically modified organisms and took them off the market. This was 'a major step forward, a major precedent for purity and integrity of the food system in the US,' Raja Fagan said.
Raja Fagan went on to report on another striking example in the United States, that of rGBH hormone in dairy products. Raja Fagan's global responsibilities for food purity and safety were entrusted to him by Maharishi, and Raja Fagan honoured Maharishi's profound contributions in 'bringing out the knowledge of collective consciousness and the Vedic technologies to enliven it in the world, to ensure enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for ever nation in the world'.
* Raja John Fagan, PhD, is a molecular biologist who for more than two decades used recombinant DNA techniques in his own research, for which he received over US$2.5 million in grants from the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). In 1994 Dr Fagan took an ethical stand against germ-line genetic engineering and renounced $1.8 million in further grants. Since that time, Dr Fagan has become a recognized world leader in promoting food purity and safety through Maharishi's programmes.
