Claudia Perez, a recent graduate of the Sustainable Living degree program at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, gave a presentation in Puerto Rico in late 2014, thanks to her senior thesis project winning a competition sponsored by the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE).
Earlier in the year Ms. Perez completed her senior project in which she advocated for renewable energy in her native Puerto Rico. Part of the project was to submit a proposal to ACORE's Renewable Energy Youth Ambassador Program.
Following a lengthy application and review process, ACORE selected her project proposal. Ms. Perez was invited, all expenses paid, to attend ACORE's Renewable Energy Latin American & Caribbean Conference & Exhibition in November in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
She said that MUM gave her all the tools to understand the importance of taking into account all areas of sustainability.
