The director of MKC City College in Cyprus has many ideas and creative approaches to education, and since he learned Transcendental Meditation his creative ideas have only been magnified, said Dr Theodore M Pizanis, director of the Transcendental Meditation programme in Cyprus.

College administrators have offered a scholarship for a student from Cyprus to earn a degree in Business Administration while helping to promote Consciousness-Based Education in the country.

MKC City College in Cyprus has begun hosting consciousness-based programmes. Owners of the college have learned Transcendental Meditation and on several occasions they have made the campus available for 'open days' for related activities.

A page has been created on Facebook® so that activities and announcements related to Consciousness-Based Education and other programmes founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi can be publicized and everyone can easily access them. The page also presents research and videos by professors at Maharishi University of Management in Iowa, USA. The MKC director also wants to create a page on the college's website explaining the scholarship programme.

MKC City College administrators have made campus venues available for people to attend lectures in a dignified environment situated on the sea front, with water to the east and a north-facing entrance (principles of Maharishi Vastu architecture considered to promote positive effects for a building's occupants).

When Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management, toured Cyprus last year he visited many of its colleges. For the first five colleges Dr Morris visited along with the High Commissioner of India in Cyprus, who is also helping to introduce Maharishi's programmes and sponsoring Gandharva Veda music concerts, Dr Pizanis said.
