Of those who graduate with a Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) degree from Maharishi University of Management (MUM), virtually all go on to find successful jobs, said Dr Keith Levi, Computer Science department chair.

Dr Levi, an expert in the field of artificial intelligence with years of experience as principal or associate investigator on research awards, recently talked about the success of his department.

He said that of those completing the programme, '99.9 per cent go on and work very successfully as professionals in the industry'.

One reason for their success is the competitive nature of the field and the reputation of Maharishi University of Management's Computer Science programme.*

To be a good computer scientist, Dr Levi explained, 'you have to be bright, you have to have a good aptitude and ability with mathematics and logical thinking'.

He added that students seeking to enrol in the MUM master's degree programme need to have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a technical field, and they need to have real work experience in the industry.

'We have found that the students who come into our programme do very well,' said Dr Levi.

He mentioned another advantage of the Computer Science programme at Maharishi University of Management. In addition to having expert professors and cutting-edge courses, students can enter the course with financial aid and soon become debt-free. They can do this by paying for their education once they have found employment with a U.S.-based company. Students generally are able to pay off their loans comfortably within two years, he said, based on the salaries they receive.

* In addition, all students learn Transcendental Meditation; students consider their daily practice of this simple, scientific technique for reducing stress, and increasing creativity and problem-solving abilities, to be one of the keys to their academic and professional success.
