Maharishi University of Management: Computer Science graduates hired by top companies

There is 'a growing recognition for our students', said Dr Keith Levi, Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Maharishi University of Management.
Dr Levi, a longtime professor at the university and expert in the field of artificial intelligence, talked about the ongoing success of the university's Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) degree programme, also known as the Computer Professionals Program.
Probably the main reason the programme continues to draw so many new students, he said, is that graduates 'have done so well with the companies' where they have been hired. 'They have been very successful in their positions and are being employed in companies across the country. Our students have been hired now by over 1,000 companies throughout the US.
'Many of these are very well-known and respected companies,' Dr Levi said. 'Microsoft alone has hired over 200 of our students.'
He then listed just a few of the companies that have hired Computer Science graduates from MUM:
Amazon, Cisco, Citibank, Compaq, Fedex, Geico, General Motors, General Electric, Goodyear, Google, Hewlett Packard, IBM, LinkedIn, Lucent Technologies, Mayo Clinic, MCI, Merrill lynch, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, New York Life, Oracle, Principal Financial, Proctor and Gamble, Rockwell Collins, Royal Bank of Scotland, Sprint, State Farm, Sun Microsystems, Time Warner, T-Mobile, Verizon, Wachovia Bank, Wells Fargo, and Walmart.
Many of these companies now take notice when students from Maharishi University of Management graduate and post their resumes, Dr Levi said.
He added that in the past, students who worked at Microsoft were met with blank stares when they mentioned MUM.
'Now they say that there have been so many students hired [at Microsoft] that they have a reputation. There's often more than one Maharishi student in a given technical group. . . . There is a reputation for the Maharishi students as being very technically competent.'
Another new development over the last few years is that companies now come directly to the Maharishi University of Management campus in Fairfield, Iowa, to interview graduating students before they even have a chance to leave campus.
