The article features Alexandra Warwick, a second-year student at Maharishi University of Management from Champaign, Illinois, USA.

Within her first month at MUM, she realized it was where she wanted to be. ''I have never been anywhere where I could be completely myself with people I just met,'' said Alexandra.

MUM's block system of taking one course at a time helps Alexandra stay focused and improve her retention of each subject. ''I love how everything we do is connected back to ourselves so we learn about ourselves before we learn about the world.''

In her spare time, in addition to teaching ballet, and other community service activities, Alexandra serves on the board of Rise Africa, a nonprofit organization focusing on educating children and developing communities in Africa. She plans to teach internationally with the goal of empowering disadvantaged children.
