In Lome, the capital city of Togo, there is a school where many students and faculty have learned the meditation technique.

The school is not far from the national centre for the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and a group of students accompanied the centre's directors, Dr Guy and Dr Nelly Sogoyou, to greet Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management, on his recent arrival at the airport in Lome.

Togo, in West Africa, is one of 14 countries Dr Morris is visiting on the 'Invincible Africa' tour celebrating 50 years of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes in the country.

Dr Morris is an international expert in the application of programmes Maharishi developed to improve the quality of life for the individual and society.

He was in Togo for several days of meetings with leaders in government and other fields, in which he presented solutions Maharishi has offered, through his knowledge and technologies of consciousness, to help governments rise out of problems of poverty, violence, and conflict and create invincible peace and progress for the whole nation.

The schoolchildren greeted Dr Morris with flowers, which he found a 'very heartwarming and sweet' welcome to the country.

A few days later he visited the school and had a very fruitful meeting with over 100 members of the administration and faculty, inspiring them with news of the success of Consciousness-Based Education in schools around the world, including at Dr Morris's university, Maharishi University of Management, and Maharishi School in Iowa, USA—flagship institutions of Consciousness-Based Education in the world.

Thirty per cent of the students and faculty of the school already practise Transcendental Meditation. At the meeting the principal announced that he would like to offer all the students and faculty the opportunity to learn Transcendental Meditation, and that this programme would be supported by the school.
