It has been another good year for Maharishi School in Melbourne, Australia, reported Frances Clark, the principal of the school.
Ms Clarke mentioned that the school, which specializes in Consciousness-Based Education, has recently shown outstanding enrolment growth. It is currently the summer break in Australia, but when the students reconvene, the school will see a 30% increase in enrolment.
One reason for this growth is Maharishi School's excellence in academics.
In the past year, a group of senior students was selected as one of just eight groups to move on to the state finals in Science and Drama awards. As a result of being finalists, the group got to perform on stage at Canterbury Girls Secondary College.
In addition, Maharishi School placed second in the primary school division, just one point behind the winning school.
Because athletic events hold a lot of import in Australia, the athletic success of the school has also drawn more new students.
Maharishi School in Melbourne made great strides in basketball this year. Their boys team made it all the way to the state finals, a position which only 32 out of 541 teams reach. The under-12 girls team was runner up in the basketball grand final.
Another reason for increased enrolment is the satisfaction of the parents. A few parents shared their enthusiasm about the Melbourne Maharishi School:
'The school is a nurturing and loving place where we know our child is safe, valued, and loved.'
'Our child loves school, even wanting to come on weekends.'
'The school is such a wonderful environment. We could not be happier with the care and support our child is lucky enough to receive.'
