Career opportunities for graduates of Maharishi Ayurveda Wellness Consultant Training
by Global Good News staff writer

15 December 2011
The Maharishi Ayurveda Wellness Consultant Certificate Training Program trains individuals who are interested in working in the healthcare field, providing support, knowledge, and assistance to those who want to improve their health.
The current programme is still accepting applicants. It is offered in five weekend modules; participants can take the second module in January and make up the first one online.
What careers await the graduates of the course?
Dr Stuart Rothenberg, Director of Medical Education for the Maharishi Ayurveda Association of America, recently addressed this question.
He mentioned that this topic is part of the final lessons of the course. A lesson is taught on 'setting up shop', or how to successfully obtain and retain clients and promote your services.
'We get very practical in helping the students with this issue of how to make their services available in their communities,' Dr Rothenberg remarked.
In addition, the course discusses interfacing with modern medicine and providing support services for modern integrative medicine practitioners. It also covers knowing how and when to refer clients to modern medical practitioners.
Deacon Carpenter, one of the faculty of the course, is a good example of opportunities available through the training, having created a successful independent Ayurveda Wellness Consultant practice. He will be sharing his ideas and strategies with the course participants.
Dr Rothenberg also mentioned that Maharishi University of Management, where the course is held,* is setting up a programme to support the course participants to help them find the best situation for themselves after they graduate. This may mean helping them find a practitioner to work alongside, with whom they can affiliate.
He elaborated, 'We'll be setting up a support service for our students to help them to find the best ways that they can use their new skills, supporting physicians and other practitioners or independently.'**
Global Good News will continue to feature Dr Rothenberg's report on the Maharishi Ayurveda Wellness Consultants Certificate Training Course.
