The article features a primary school in Auckland, New Zealand, where the Transcendental Meditation Quiet Time programme has been established.
Young students under ten years of age learn the special children's Transcendental Meditation Technique, which has been found to have a harmonious and stabilizing effect: Teachers say that as a result of their daily practice the children become happier and more settled and focused in class.
'If you ask a child how they feel after they have done their ''Word of Wisdom'' (another name for the children's technique), they invariably reply ''Happy!'' with a big smile,' said Clare Smillie, a Transcendental Meditation teacher who has worked with Stress-Free Schools in New Zealand for the last three years.
