The article features five Maharishi University of Management students who helped to introduce the Transcendental Meditation technique to college students around the country during an internship last month with the David Lynch Foundation.
The immediate goal of the Student Outreach Program is to organize showings of a 70-minute documentary that contains clips of Mr. Lynch answering questions about meditation, creativity, and peace during his European tour of 16 countries several years ago.
Once they laid the groundwork and began making contacts, the students quickly lined up a number of showings at universities such as Harvard, MIT, the University of Michigan, and the College of Creative Studies in Detroit. Their goal was to organize 100-200 events.
