The research of Professor Evan Finkelstein of Maharishi University of Management (MUM) explores how the major religions of the world reflect universal principles of life which are expressed in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Vedic Science.
Dr Finkelstein, who is professor of Comparative Religion and Maharishi Vedic Science at MUM, began this research for his PhD thesis in 1994. His analysis and insights have brought out a deep level of understanding of the Bible and Qur'an (Koran) in the light of Maharishi Vedic Science and technologies of consciousness. He has also elucidated experiences of higher states of consciousness which are clearly described in the texts of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, in light of experiences of practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
Millions of people of all religions and cultures around the world practise Transcendental Meditation and enjoy its benefits for their mental and physical health and well-being, which have been documented by extensive scientific research. Religious people of different faiths have also found that the technique can enhance their understanding and practice of their religion.
For example, in a video on the home page of TM.org, the official website for the Transcendental Meditation Programme in the US, Father Len Dubi, a Catholic priest in Chicago, describes how the regular practice of Transcendental Meditation over many years has enriched his religious faith and experience.
