Transcendental Meditation has transformed a high school in Israel, taking it from the brink of closure to winning top educational awards two years in a row. In addition, throughout Israel, the average number of people learning the Transcendental Meditation Programme more than doubled recently.
A local leader of the Global Country of World Peace, Dr Reuven Zelinkowsky, reported on the success of Consciousness-Based Education in this high school.
The school was about to close due to poor academic performance by the students and problems in the school, he said. After the Transcendental Meditation Programme was implemented, there were dramatic improvements in all areas.
The school achieved 2nd place in the National Education Award in 2008, and placed 3rd in the National Education Award in 2009. This is the first time that any school in Israel received the award in two consecutive years, Dr Zelinkowsky said.
In addition, Dr Alex Kutai, National Director of Israel for the Global Country, reported that the average number of people learning the Transcendental Meditation Programme in the country more than doubled recently.
The increase coincides with a new a scholarship rate offered to those wanting to learn Transcendental Meditation in Israel, he said.
