Legendary singer-songwriter Donovan Leitch gave a concert 24 January in the grand Cuvilliés Theatre in Munich, Germany, to benefit Consciousness-Based Education initiatives in the nation.
The sold-out concert on behalf of Schule ohne Stress—'Schools without Stress'—featuring the Transcendental Meditation Programme in education, reached a global audience via live streaming video and social networking.
Audio highlights from the concert and stories of Donovan's visit to Munich were recently featured on Maharishi Global Family Chat.*
Donovan arrived in Munich a day early, explained Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication for the Global Country of World Peace. He inspired Transcendental Meditation practitioners at the local Maharishi Invincibility Centre** to create invincibility for the nation through Consciousness-Based Education.
In an interview during the concert intermission, Dr Eckart Stein, National Director of Education for the Global Country in Germany, described scientifically documented benefits of students practising Transcendental Meditation in schools, including improved academic performance, development of creativity, greater enjoyment of life, and enhanced inner peace and quietness for students. 'This is something we should have for all schools in Germany,' he said.
Between songs during the concert, Donovan explained that Transcendental Meditation allows one to experience more refined levels of the thinking process through the process of transcending, giving students 'power over their inner world'. He also described his experience in setting up the concert: like any activity on behalf of the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, he said, everything was arranged effortlessly by Natural Law.
The event was a great success, commented Dr Stein and Dr Swan, and Donovan looks forward to giving similar charity concerts in many other countries to support Consciousness-Based Education.

** Maharishi Invincibility Centres in major cities around the world offer the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, including the Transcendental Meditation Programme, to promote enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for every nation through development of full potential in every area of life.
