The primary focus of David Lynch Foundation Television (DLF.TV) is to reach young people—to inspire the younger generation to learn Transcendental Meditation.

Ms Heather Hartnett, Director of Marketing and Communication for the David Lynch Foundation, spoke at Foundation's recent four-year anniversary celebration.* She highlighted comments by a recent visitor to Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, that it is 'such a great time for this generation'—everyone wants to help; they genuinely want to make a difference.

'We are giving young people the avenue to be able to make that difference,' Ms Hartnett said. 'There has been a great surge of interest from this younger generation'—inspired by the Foundation's programmes offering Maharishi's technologies of consciousness to overcome stress, gain the highest levels of human development, and help improve the life of people around the world.

Ms Hartnett noted the increasing use of television and film on the Internet, because of the effectiveness of film as inspiration. 'We are very fortunate to have the foremost, brilliant filmmaker of our time, Dr David Lynch, behind us, which has created a huge surge of support' among all who admire his work.

Under the guidance of Dr Lynch, Raja John Hagelin** (president of the David Lynch Foundation), and Dr Robert Roth (vice president), Ms Hartnett's young, creative team form a production company for the Foundation. Together they will be creating films of projects the Foundation is supporting around the world, to convey the inspiration of these projects and their participants in a very potent way.

She reported that over 400 volunteers have signed up on the DLF.TV website, and that there are 50 student affiliates. A Student Affiliate Programme will be launched in the Fall—starting with Maharishi University of Management and reaching out to other major universities around the world. When Dr Lynch or Raja Hagelin have a message for the younger generation, she said, it can be broadcast across universities globally.

Ms Hartnett expressed her thanks for everyone's support, and her intentions to bring out ideal footage of all the great successes in the field of education, and to help bring Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation to the younger generation.

* The David Lynch Foundation fourth anniversary celebration was featured on the 28 and 29 July Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.

** Dr John Hagelin is a world-renowned quantum physicist and Executive Director of the International Center for Invincible Defense in New York City, USA. He is also Raja of Invincible America and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace.
