Speaking 27 August 2008 on Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Robert Schneider, Professor and Director of the Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention at Maharishi University of Management and National Director of Health for the Global Country of World Peace in the United States, announced preliminary plans for Maharishi College of Perfect Health, the new medical school of Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

The Maharishi University of Management (M.U.M.) Board of Trustees, under the leadership of Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, has recently given the mandate to start the new medical college. The college was designed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, working closely with the Minister of Health for the Global Country of World Peace, Dr Rainer Picha. Programmes at the medical school will meet all the legal requirements for the M.D. in the US, and graduates will likely be able to practise even beyond the US and Canada.

At the College of Perfect Health, students will learn the best that modern medicine has to offer, including the most advanced medical technologies. Training in modern medical modalities will be complemented with education in Unified Field-Based medicine in a complete and thorough way. 'M.U.M. is working very actively to launch these programmes now,' reported Dr Schneider. 'We expect it will be a few years before the project is complete.'

The entry requirements for M.U.M. College of Perfect Health will adhere to the set of pre-medical courses standard for the US, including fundamental courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. The M.U.M. undergraduate college will soon be offering these courses, combining conventional modern knowledge with Maharishi Vedic Science. 'M.U.M. will provide pre-medical students with the opportunity to prepare for their medical training in a low-stress environment, without the endless hours of study common to most pre-med programmes,' commented Dr Schneider.

'We expect this will be a highly competitive programme,' said Dr Schneider in closing. 'We will accept only the best and the brightest, with M.U.M. students having the advantage because of their background in Consciousness-Based Education.'
