Dr Willem Meijles, Raja (Administrator) of Indonesia for the Global Country of World Peace, spoke during a recent Maharishi Global Family Chat about activities bringing invincibility to Indonesia.
The fourth most populated country in the world, Indonesia is comprised of 18,000 islands over which are scattered 235 million people of diverse cultures. The activities of the Global Country of World Peace are focused on the island of Bali, whose culture still reflects its roots in Vedic civilization. There are 1,500 practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme in Bali and a strong, active organization is working to bring Maharishi's programmes to the public.
With mountain terrain making it a challenge to establish groups of Yogic Flyers that are necessary to secure invincibility for Indonesia, special emphasis is being placed on schools, developing Consciousness-Based Education programmes throughout Bali.
Raja Willem reported on the success of a recent seminar introducing Consciousness-Based Education to school officials. Among 435 people in attendance were nine members of the Balinese regional Ministry of Education, plus principals and teachers.
Currently about 800 Balinese students practise the Transcendental Meditation Technique. Plans are underway for students to learn the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, as a first step toward a goal of 2,000 student Yogic Flyers in Bali.
Support from leaders of the Global Country of World Peace in Australia, and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme Administrators from India will help make this goal a reality within six to twelve months, estimated Raja Willem.
