Speaking recently on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Ronald Barnett, Dean of Admissions for Maharishi University of Management (M.U.M.) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA reported that recent revamping of the university website has led to an increase in online viewers and applications.
The new design, said Dr Barnett, has produced a 31% increase in average time spent on the M.U.M. website. It has also led to a decrease in exit rate, he continued, which is the percentage of viewers who leave the site without going past the homepage. Most importantly, there has been an increase in the number of applications for admission to the university by people who have just visited the website.
In addition to the 1.7 million visitors the M.U.M. website receives per year, the university also gains recognition over the web through search engine marketing, consisting of advertisements on Google or Yahoo search engines. 'This type of advertising,' said Dr Barnett, 'produces over 20 undergraduate applications to the university per month, and even more for the university's professional programmes.'
In the near future, the university plans to put videos on fifteen different websites, including the popular YouTube, which contain footage of David Lynch, film director and founder of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace; Raja Dr John Hagelin, renowned physicist and Raja of Invincible America for the Global Country of World Peace; as well as faculty and students at M.U.M.
