Brain researcher Alarik Arenander and Cynthia Arenander teamed to give two well-received presentations at Simpson College last month. Their presentations used brain mapping technology to demonstrate the success of the Transcendental Meditation program in awakening total brain potential.
'It's a joy to present the success of so many people around the world developing their total brain potential,' said Dr. Arenander, director of brain research for the Center for Leadership Performance. 'We find this news really makes the audience sit up and take notice.'
Inspiration to organize the presentations came through the David Lynch Weekend held at the University last May. A faculty member of Simpson College attended the weekend and arranged for its officials to bring Dr. Arenander to their campus to repeat the information presented.
The first presentation was to seniors and the second to faculty, staff, and community members. The audiences were shown pictures of brainwave activity during the Transcendental Meditation program, demonstrating how brain activity becomes more orderly and coherent during the practice.
'The audiences were awestruck at the huge change in the EEG—going from small amplitude to very large, orderly, alpha waves,' Cynthia Arenander said.
The presentations also covered news of the teaching of the Transcendental Meditation technique in schools in the U.S. and Latin America and also information on Fairfield and Maharishi Vedic City, including the Invincible America Assembly, Maharishi Vedic Organic agriculture, and Maharishi Vedic(SM) architecture. The response from audiences was so powerful that the Arenanders have been inspired to initiate an Awaken Total Brain campaign to present to colleges and universities throughout the Midwest.
According to Dr. Arenander, University Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has said that brain mapping is a vision of total knowledge, not a narration of total knowledge—seeing enlightenment, not just talking about it.
