Chile: Maharishi Consciousness-Based Education effective in reducing absenteeism and aggression in educational institutions

In Chile, news of the implementation of a Consciousness-Based Education programme for students, teachers, and professors in the UTM University of Santiago, has appeared in the media and on the internet.

An integral part of the Consciousness-Based Education programme is the practice of Transcendental Meditation , and 665 people are reported to have learnt Transcendental Meditation in the University to date, including both students, faculty, and staff.

Reports suggest that Consciousness-Based Education has been successful in creating a better climate in the university, with increased efficiency and productivity of both students and teachers. In addition, marked reductions in the rate of absenteeism, aggression, and stress levels were very evident. As a result, contributing schools related to the university may now also be interested in implementing the programme.

Consciousness-Based Education is becoming more and more popular in Latin America - a new innovation that is really bringing results and drawing the attention of the media, as well as the intelligentsia in Chile and around the world.
