18 January 2007
Mr George Wang, Principal of the Vancouver Institute of Business and Technology, a private college for Chinese students coming to Canada, had been searching many years for a system of education that would unfold the creative potential of his students. He was so inspired by the presentation of Dr Clarence Cormier in Vancouver, that he visited Maharishi University of Management to find out more.
Introduced to the brilliance of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's knowledge utilized in all aspects of the University's operation, Mr Wang was amazed by the creativity, intelligence and natural poise of the students there.
At MUM he met and formed a strong bond with Dr Yungxiang Zhu whose remarkable work in China has opened so many doors for the introduction of Maharishi's Consciousness-Based Education. The two talked for many hours about the current sad state of education, especially in rural China, and what could be done about it.
What emerged was an historic collaboration agreement signed on 13 January, the first step in allowing the Vancouver Institute of Business and Technology, a private college for Chinese students coming to Canada to earn tertiary degrees, to offer the BA and MBA programme of MUM to its students in Vancouver, making it Canada's first Invincibility School.
Mr Wang has also pledged to support the establishment of an International Invincibility High School in Vancouver, and to approach wealthy Chinese immigrants to raise funds for building Invincibility Schools in rural areas of China to fulfill the highest ideals of education for all students in his native country.
'This is not just an agreement between two educational institutions, it is a global agreement, a coming together of the three as one, China, Canada, and USA, in a united effort to bring fulfilment to education for all students, and to bring invincibility to those nations and lasting peace to the entire world,' said Dr Craig Pearson, Vice-President of MUM.
