28 April 2006
On 28 April 2006 The Gazette reported:
Approximately 100 people recently attended a seminar in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA to learn how the Transcendental Meditation Programme can benefit schools in the area.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of education.
The audience included local educators, some of whom took the day off from work in order to learn more about this innovative approach that offers a 'solution for schools seeking to reduce student stress and boost academic achievement'.
The Gazette reported that according to the seminar panelists, numerous studies 'show the technique reduces high blood pressure, increases creativity, boosts brain functioning, and even shows promise as an antidote for kids with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder'.
Panelist Ashley Deans, PhD, 'the director of the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, where students meditate twice a day', said: 'What TM is doing is developing the whole brain in a holistic way.'
The Gazette also included the testimonial of Nick Runkle, a student at Colorado College who has been a practitioner of the Transcendental Meditation Programme since the age of ten.
The article reports that Runkle said that TM rejuvenates him when he's got a tough assignment and helps him focus on his courses.
Some concern was expressed by a former Iowa professor about the cost of US$2,500 to learn the TM Technique.
The Gazette reported that Mr Deans 'confirmed the price but said foundation grants are available to cover costs'.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
